Comic Book Legend Len Wein dies at age 69.
Len Wein, comic book writer and the co-creator of Wolverine and co-creator of Swamp Thing has died. Len had a great reputation in the comic business as someone who loved comics. His contributions are enormous.
I had the pleasure of meeting Len Wein in Metropolis, Illinois while working as Superman. As he approached me The first thing he said to me was, "You are incredibly brave." I will be forever grateful to him for his participation in my documentary Heroic Ambition. He was great. When announcer John Lowry is coming up with titles Len worked on, Len simply says "Everything". Which couldn't be more accurate. This man's work will be adored for years to come.
My personal favorite was his "The Untold Legend of Batman" series. I still have Swamp Thing number one from when I was a kid. Comic book gold. I gave Len a copy of the DVD and he was gracious. I ran into him at Wonder Con in 2015 and he seemed like he was doing great.
So sad to see such a legend in the comic industry and a genuinely nice man gone. Rest in peace Len Wein... Scott Cranford
