The Comic-Con Museum reopens in San Diego for Winter Comic-Con
Long has San Diego needed a staple Museum celebrating the phenomenon that has occurs in this coastal city every Summer.
In a city that proudly holds a convention celebrating comics and pop culture, larger than any other, celebrating comics and pop culture, it seems only fitting that they would have a museum for fans to attend.
A life long fan of superheroes and the iconic convention, my expectations were high. I imagined an entryway with stone pillars and busts of famous faces like Adam West, Gene Roddenberry and Jack Kirby. The inside would be packed with artifacts from the very first San Diego Comic Cons, Rare Comic Books behind bullet proof glass, items donated by Hollywoods elite and featured here only for the dedicated fans who ventured there to see. Well not exactly.

The three story museum boast three floors, a nice a gift shop and features rotating displays with different themes. The themes premiering for the reopen were; Eight Decades of Archie, Gene Roddenberry Sci-Fi Visionary and Pacman. The Adams Family Charles Adams creators work was featured as well with many original pieces on display. They had some nice Star Trek pieces and some impressive superhero costumes displayed in the main room but the bottom floor looked like an empty warehouse with some costumes on mannequins in the middle. You could see almost everything in about 20 minutes but he price was only $20 dollars. Superheroes are the backbone of the Industry and I was surprised to see so little focus on them Its a great start and Im glad it's there but the comic book community really needs to step up and donate some permanent display pieces. This fan would love to see the history of the San Diego Comic Convention and permanent displays of rare comics but I am cofident this is only the beginning of a Heroic attraction. .
