I'm lucky to have been blessed with a passion for superheroes and a desire to inspire people through them. Arnold Schwarzenegger became my role model after I saw Conan The Barbarian. There was nobody in the media trying to do real life heroics like Arnold was. It wasn't even close.

Heroic World's Scott Cranford talks about his real life hero...
I moved to CA from CT on my 17th Birthday. The next day my dad took me to World Gym in Santa Monica because I knew Arnold Schwarzenegger worked out there. At this point, I had read: Arnold Schwarzenegger: The Education of a Bodybuilder 14 times. As we pulled up to World's Gym, Arnold was walking out! My dad exclaimed, it's Arnold, it's Arnold! I jumped out of the car, not knowing what to do. I watched him walk across the street and get into the backseat of a light blue convertible, joining a bunch of muscle guys. Inside the gym, legend, Joe Gold let my dad and I work out for free. I saw Franco Columbu and Sylvester Stallone training. It was an amazing day but what meant the most to me was seeing Arnold.
Arnold inspired me to get into bodybuilding and the entertainment Industry. I wouldn't have had the confidence to play Superman for the city of Metropolis, The police and the Army without the inspiration I got from Arnold Schwarzenegger. I even based my Superman Documentary: Heroic Ambition on the film Pumping Iron.
I worked with Arnold on seven of his movies. On rare occasions as a stand in for him. I believe this happened because of visualization I'd learned from him, because it wasn't my physique. I was trying to play superheroes in the movies and had the pleasure of witnessing my hero up close. I'd watch him go up to strangers and compliment them or ask for their opinions. I was like a detective trying to pick up tips. I'd see him go to craft service and walk away with only a fig newton. I'd write that down. While most actors on sets are driven around in golf carts, Arnold would drive the cart and the people in the cart were all having a good time. That I believe is symbolic of Arnold.

An Open Letter to Arnold Schwarzenegger...

Arnold and Franco Concur California is a cartoon comedy series loosely based on you and Franco Columbu's early days living and training in Venice Beach. This show is a fun way to present your philosophy to an all new audience. The show would be heavy on comedy, sprinkled with a little bit of naughty. I feel Netflix is the perfect venue.
I talked to Franco at your fireman weight lifting competition at the Santa Monica Pier about the show. He immediately liked the idea. He told me in an email that he had mentioned it to you. I don't know if he shared the script with you so, I am asking if I could now. Why am I the right guy to write this show? I spent years going to gyms in LA and talking to people on movie sets to learn more about your story. I have a deep respect for the friendship, the humor and the ambition you and Franco shared and would love to see it showcased in this format.
My ultimate goal is to make the superheroes of HeroicWorld exclusive to Netflix the way Disney has Marvel and Warner Bros. has DC Comics. I am aware that two of your favorite causes are climate change and education. Heroic World's flagship heroes are The Earth Avenger and Sharpman. The Earth Avenger is on a mission to save our planet from ourselves and Sharpman is devoted to saving education.
For 12 years I spoke of the heroes of HeroicWorld as a featured guest on the LA Radio station KROQ. The Heroic World heroes have also been online since 2000. With your help, these much needed Superheroes could be brought to audiences in a big way and do great things for climate change awareness and making education hip and desirable.
Thank you Arnold Schwarzenegger!

This article is published 40 years to the date that I first saw Arnold Schwarzenegger at World Gym on 8/16/84.
