Legendary Batman writer Denny O' Neil has passed away at age 81. 

Denny O Neil was a well respected scribe who was influential is returning Batman to his dark roots after the TV series gave the hero a campy persona. Teamed with Neal Adams they gave Batman a mysterious and sharper image. Many of his greatest Batman stories were written by this man and his influence on Batman and the Green Arrow will be remembered forever.
